Terms & Conditions
General rules for TradesRaffle competitions, including eligibility, paid entries, free postal entries, skill games, draws, winners and prizes.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before entering any TradesRaffle competition. These Terms apply together with the specific information shown on each competition page.
1. Promoter
TradesRaffle is operated by [INSERT LEGAL ENTITY / SOLE TRADER NAME] of [INSERT FULL BUSINESS ADDRESS].
Company number, if applicable: [INSERT COMPANY NUMBER].
Contact: support@tradesraffles.com.
2. These terms
These general terms apply unless a competition page or competition-specific terms state additional or different rules. By submitting an entry, you agree to the applicable terms.
3. Eligibility
- You must be aged 18 or over and resident in an eligible area stated on the competition page.
- You must meet any geographic, delivery-area or other restriction shown on the relevant competition page.
- You must use your own genuine account and payment information.
- We may request reasonable evidence of age, identity, address or eligibility before accepting an entry or awarding a prize.
4. Competition details and closing dates
Each competition page will state the prize, price if applicable, maximum entries, closing date or closing point, entry limits, eligibility restrictions, whether a free postal entry route is available, and any important prize conditions.
Each competition will have a stated closing date or closing point. Where a competition also advertises an early-closing sales trigger, reaching the displayed tickets-sold percentage for the first time will start a separate seven-day countdown. The original closing date is not removed. Where both apply, the competition will close on whichever occurs first.
A competition does not need to reach a minimum percentage of ticket sales in order for the draw or winner-selection process to proceed. The advertised prize will still be awarded in accordance with these Terms once the competition reaches its applicable closing point.
5. Paid online entry
- Select a competition.
- Complete any qualifying question, skill or verification step.
- Select the permitted number of entries.
- Complete checkout through the payment provider displayed at checkout.
- An entry is accepted only when payment succeeds and the entry is recorded by our system.
Your signed-in account may show the order, entry and refund status. Payment-card details are handled by the payment provider and are not displayed in your TradesRaffle account.
6. Free postal entry route
The free postal route is available only for a competition whose listing clearly displays “Free postal entry available”. Where offered, it must be a genuine choice, promoted prominently before purchase and treated equally in the prize-allocation process. If the listing displays “Free postal entry not available”, postal submissions will not be accepted for that competition.
Where the route is available, you may enter without paying the online entry price. You pay only the normal cost of ordinary First Class or Second Class post; premium or special-delivery services are not required.
How to enter
Send the required information by ordinary First Class or Second Class post to the free postal entry address published for the relevant competition.
Include your full name, date of birth, postal address, email address, the exact competition title or identifier, and any answer or skill information required by that competition. Where Spot the Target applies, include the horizontal (X) and vertical (Y) position of each marker, stated as a percentage from 0.0000% to 100.0000% of the competition image measured from its top-left corner. If submitting more than one postal entry, each entry must be clearly identified and must not cause you to exceed the maximum entries per person shown for that competition.
The competition page will state any applicable limit on free postal entries. Postal entries must be received before the relevant competition closes. Valid free postal entries must meet the same eligibility requirements as paid entries and will be entered into the same prize-allocation process. TradesRaffle will not give a valid entry different odds solely because it was submitted using the free postal entry route.
7. Questions and panel-judged skill games
Each competition page will show whether entry uses a qualifying question or a panel-judged skill game. A qualifying question applies only where the skill game is not enabled. A simple multiple-choice question must not be treated as a substitute for a genuine free route unless specialist advice confirms that the competition meets the statutory skill, knowledge or judgement test.
Spot the Target
For a competition marked “Skill game”, the entrant must use skill and judgement to place a marker where they believe the centre of the missing target should be. One separate marker is required for every entry allocated, including any promotional or bonus entry. The maximum number of entries permitted per person is the limit shown on the relevant competition page. If a requested purchase, promotion or bonus allocation would cause that limit to be exceeded, the number of entries permitted will be reduced accordingly.
The image is an altered competition scene. The winner is not decided by revealing or measuring against the target's original position. After the competition has closed, a judging panel appointed for the competition will use its skill and judgement to agree the position where the centre of the missing target should be. The panel decision must be made after closing and will be recorded by TradesRaffle.
Each valid entrant marker is stored as a horizontal and vertical position on the image. Once the panel's position has been recorded, all valid entries are ranked by their straight-line distance from that position. The closest marker is the potential winner, subject to eligibility, identity checks and all other terms. If two or more valid markers are exactly tied, the tied entrants will be asked to complete a separate skill-based tie-break under instructions supplied at that time.
An incomplete marker set cannot be submitted for payment. Refunded, cancelled, released, fraudulent or otherwise invalid entries are excluded from the ranking. The panel point and ranked result may be reviewed and recorded before a winner is announced.
8. Entry limits and fair use
You must not exceed stated limits, use false identities, use payment methods without permission, interfere with the website, automate entries in breach of the rules, or attempt to gain an unfair advantage.
9. Draw, judging and winner
Valid entries received before the competition closes will be included in the prize-allocation process stated on the relevant competition page. Where a random draw is used, every valid active ticket number will be eligible for selection using the published auditable draw method, with valid paid and free entries treated equally. Where a panel-judged skill competition is used, the winner will be determined and ranked in accordance with Section 7. Where a competition includes Instant Wins, winning ticket numbers or outcomes will be determined and administered using the Instant Win mechanism stated on the relevant competition page.
The potential winner will be contacted using their registered email address or telephone details as soon as reasonably practicable after selection. The winner may be required to respond within the claim period stated on the competition page and complete eligibility checks before the prize is awarded.
A selected potential winner may be required to complete a secure identity check. This may include submitting a valid identity document and selfie through a hosted identity provider so that age, identity and eligibility can be checked. The potential winner must use their own genuine information. A verification request does not itself confirm that a prize has been awarded.
10. Prizes
The prize is the item, package, cash alternative or site credit, if any, described on the relevant competition page. Unless the competition page expressly states otherwise, physical prizes include UK mainland delivery only and do not include installation, fitting, assembly, building work, electrical work, plumbing work, removal of existing items or any other associated work. Any cash alternative will only be available where it is expressly advertised on the competition page. Where site credit is awarded, it may only be used for eligible TradesRaffle entries and is not withdrawable as cash unless expressly stated otherwise.
11. Unverified or unreachable winners
If a selected winner is ineligible, cannot provide reasonable verification, refuses or fails the requested identity check, materially breached the rules or cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts within any stated claim period, an alternative winner may be selected in accordance with the competition rules. We will consider any genuine technical or accessibility problem fairly before making that decision.
12. Cancellations and refunds
Competitions are intended to proceed to their advertised draw or winner-selection process once they reach their applicable closing point, regardless of the percentage of available entries sold, unless the competition is cancelled for a legitimate reason or applicable law requires otherwise.
If TradesRaffle cancels a competition and does not proceed with the advertised prize or an appropriate alternative permitted by these terms and applicable law, paid entrants will receive a refund of the amount paid for that competition. Free promotional and postal entries for the cancelled competition will be void because no payment was made for those entries.
Where a refund is due, it will normally be returned to the original payment method. Any ticket numbers attached to refunded entries will be cancelled and will no longer be eligible to win, although TradesRaffle may retain an audit record of the original allocation and refund. Where an entry was paid for using TradesRaffle site credit, any valid refund will normally be restored as site credit. The time taken for a cash refund to appear depends on the payment provider and the entrant's bank. Nothing in these Terms removes statutory rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
13. Changes or cancellation
We will not make material changes simply to disadvantage entrants. If an unforeseen event makes a change reasonably necessary, we will act fairly and explain what happens to affected entries.
14. Winner information and privacy
Limited winner information may be published where appropriate and lawful. Personal information is handled under our Privacy Policy.
15. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that, TradesRaffle is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you entered or for delay or failure caused by matters outside our reasonable control. Unless expressly stated on the relevant competition page, installation, fitting, assembly, building work, electrical work, plumbing work, removal of existing items or other associated works are not included in a physical prize. Any contractor or installer independently chosen by the winner is not acting on behalf of TradesRaffle. We use reasonable technical and organisational security measures, but no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Card payments are processed by the payment provider shown at checkout and TradesRaffle does not store customers’ full card numbers, expiry dates or card security codes.
16. Complaints
Contact support@tradesraffles.com with your name, competition or order reference, and a clear description of the issue. We will acknowledge the complaint and aim to provide a substantive response within 14 business days. If more time is reasonably required, we will explain why and provide an updated timetable.
If you remain dissatisfied after we have completed our complaints process,
you may seek independent legal advice or use any alternative dispute-resolution service that is available and appropriate to your complaint.
Nothing in this section limits your right to bring a claim before a court or contact any relevant consumer-protection or regulatory body.
17. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you will continue to benefit from any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory right you may have to bring proceedings in a court available to you under applicable law.
